Dear Mr. Coffman,

In light of the recent announcement of the sale / shutdown of the Trainer, Pa. , refinery, the executive board of IBT Local 877 requests that any open wage operations or mechanical positions be offered to laid-off ConocoPhillips Trainer wage employees before filling those positions with new hires.

Also, we request that any work currently being done by contractors that could be done by laid-off Trainer wage employees be staffed immediately by those laid-off employees.

As we have been told that a hiring program is expected in 2012, we request that you consider adjusting the hiring date to coincide with the lay-off of wage employees at the Trainer refinery.

Thank you for your consideration of this extremely important issue.
